Okay, so i have many problems with my teeth.
My jaw needs correcting cause of my bite, i have a crossbite,
i need my wisdoms out, the orthodontist was really suprised i have all my wisdoms at my age.
And my K9, its bent back on itself.
Oh i found out i have TMJ aswell.

So what comes first... braces or jaw surgery?
or can i just have braces and hope for the best that it'll correct itself?
I'm only 17. :(
my next ortho appointment is june 9th, got plenty of time to decide.

Has anyone else had jaw surgery? Can you tell me your experiences?
Anyone's input would be nice/appreciated.
thanks

Jammie Dodger you have a lot of thinking to do....sorry got no advice on jaw surgery but you have chance to correct your teeth now at 17, i would do it now whilst your still young!:grouphug:

Hello, I'm 16 and I've got braces, i got them when i was just 14 but i didn't have much wrong with my teeth at all. Now my teeth are all straight, they now realise that i need jaw surgery aswell to bring my bottom jaw forward in line with my top jaw. So they decided to do x-rays find out if i had wisdom teeth and I did as these had to be removed and healed completely before jaw surgery which took about 4/5 weeks. I am having the jaw surgery done in 2 weeks time. So my option would be get braces, and your orthodontist will lead you on the path if you need the surgery. It will be worth it in years time! Well good luck and I hope this helped! Just don't fall behind on college work if you're at college! Plus the surgeons help by only doing the surgery out of college term time, with a goal of healing time just for you. Mine is all under the NHS, so well i'd say BOTH if you can and if you definatley need it!
