Thanks Gordon.

I am still feeling a little bad from time to time. It feels like I get anxious first and start hyperventilating.

Now I am having the feelings of being a puppet again and feeling dragged down and heavy. Like my muscles are tight. I want to go the ER. But, I know they are not going to do anything.

I am waking up drenched in sweat. Still no fever.

I think I have sepsis and I have for three weeks.

I just keep feeling worse.

I cannot avoid going to the dentist today and don't have time to go the ER before hand. And, I'm pretty sure I'm dying.

The dentist said they could take care of me there but they can't treat sepsis. Just pull the tooth.

The dentist can't treat it, but they can recognize severe infection and send you to the hospital if needed.

wooried, I am so sorry to read about how much you worry and it looks like all that is happening is you feeding the story about dying more and more. I am not sure if you realize how severe a sepsis would be or if the infection would spread into your brain - You wouldn‘t even be able to write here on the forum. If you keep looking for proofs that your situation is getting worse, you will find some. If you keep looking for proofs that its only anxiety, you will find some as well.
I am a bit worried about the part with your dentist not being able to treat the sepsis, not because they are not able to treat the sepsis, but because it gives your anxiety the option to believe that you are dying even after the tooth is out and the whole story can go on. I wished your health care professionals would be able to reassure you more and make you feel being taken seriously.
It is possible to even faint from anxiety, without any medical reason. It‘s possible to shake and throw up, all just from anxiety. So stress can cause a huge range of scary absolutely real physical symptoms, so could it be possible that your symptoms are more a mental exhaustion due to anxiety and lack of sleep more than a sepsis? And if your blood tests are ok and doctors are telling you you will be fine, would you believe them?
Or other way around: which medical test would give you more security that you are not dying? If there is any, please get it. There must be a way for you to find a peace of mind.
Sending you good wishes, may you find some way to get reassurance and security and may you feel better soon, mentally and physically. I also hope you have some friends and family around you who are supportive and take care of you. Keep us posted.

They got it out. And, you're right. It probably is from mental exhaustion and anxiety. But, I am still having these feelings. He didn't straight out say it wasn't sepsis but he didn't say it was either. And, he is also an MD.

I just feel like the doctors in my small town are a bunch of idiots. I hate to say it. But, I do. A doctor at my local hospital messed up my mother's meds so bad this summer she almost died. Had delirium for a month without us knowing why or what it was before we finally gave up and took her to the closest metropolitan city. That's how we found out they messed up her up at our local hospital.

If this had happened six months ago. I probably wouldn't be so untrusting.

i still feel the jerky movements in my body. I still feel like I cannot get enough air. But, everything else has stopped. For now. Whatever it is it just feels like it won't quit lurking in the background.

I am glad your tooth is out. Maybe you need to schedule a checkup at a doctor in the city? Is that possible? Ask for a full panel of blood work. You need to get some peace of mind, and if you don't trust the doctors at your hospital, go to a different one. Otherwise, your anxiety is going to get the best of you.

I'm sorry to hear what your mum had to go through and can understand how it would make you paranoid about your own experience. I agree with what Enarete wrote and it seems like even with the tooth gone, it is not going to alleviate your fears about everything else.

Perhaps you can consider getting a full blood work done at another hospital or medical facility in the city to give you a peace of mind. But that said, you would also need to work on trusting and listening to what the medical professionals are saying. Otherwise, even with the test results, you could also end up not trusting the results or the pathologist's diagnostic report which would take you no where and the cycle will carry on.

Sorry to read about what happened to your mother and glad you had found help finally. It's good to know where you would like to get treated and as the others suggest, it's all about finding a doctor you feel takes care of you well. If you noticed having a lot of anxiety about your health after what happened to your mom, you might as well consider seeing a therapist, just to process what happened. It sound like a very hard time for you all.

Glad to read that some symptoms stopped. Please consider that anxiety messes up with your biochemistry completely and an extraction is a bit of work for your body as well so you might need few days to be fine again. For me a 'usual' dental appointment is enough to feel drained for the rest of the day (however I am getting better at this as I have found a great dentist) and I even sometimes feel tired and depressed and not entirely me on the day after that. So given the fact that you have spent a lot of time with intense anxiety and had an extraction, I could imagine you will need some time to get back too.

All the best wishes, recover well and soon and keep us posted.

Thanks everyone.

I have a question. This isn't a phobia. Just something I may need to get checked out/ go back to the dentist for. Are they supposed to stitch your gum if you have an infection because he did and I am finding mixed things about that online. I just want to make sure the sucker drains.

Woooried, hope Gordon replies to this soon.. could you get a second opinion at some dental place you trust?
Hope you got some rest and start to feel better.

I hope he does too. That's the only dentist around that takes my insurance. I sure hope it's fine. I have a lot of grey/blue places on my gum too and it looks nasty. But, I am pretty sure it's just bruising.

I am not a dentist by any means, but when I was at my ENT, I had mentioned that my upper molar will most likely be extracted, and I was concerned about the sinus communication and infection.
He said that the oral surgeon would use stitches, as they promote quicker healing, and help prevent dry socket. He said I would get antibiotics to help the infection.

That could be why your dentist put stiches in. Since you are already on antibiotics, he may have stitched it to protect the blood clot.

Thanks MountainMama.

Question. I still have a white spot on my gum. It's pretty small. Tiny in fact. I am wondering if they got all the abscess or is this a cause for concern. Is there a dentist around who can answer this one?

Ugh. Now I am so worried that this is sepsis so I went and had the test done. It still hasn't come back yet. I just woke up from a nap sweating. It didn't drench my bed or clothes or anything. But, it got me scared again. Even after I had calmed down some thinking that the test will probably negative.

The doctors and nurses weren't worried about it after looking at me or anything. But, I told them I think I may have it. So. They took my blood for a CBC and lactic. Both came back good. So, they let me go home. Also, the doctor said that the he believed the culture test will be negative.

Still. I am worried. No fever, and my BP is good. I cannot get my mind off of any odd feeling or things though.

If the CBC came back negative, your culture will come back negative, just like the doctor said. Back when I had my upper 2nd molar infected, right after the failed root canal, I had a sinus infection, and had a fever, vertigo, and swelling in my sinuses. I went to the doctor and they were concerned enough to take blood for a CBC. It came back negative, and the doctor said that means the infection had not spread and was not present in my blood. It cleared up with Flonase.

No one is going to be able to reassure you if you won't believe the blood test results. You can't let your anxiety get the best of you. The tooth is out, you have antibiotics, but you are still letting your anxiety convince you that you are sick. The power of the mind is a dangerous thing, and you can have symptoms present merely by convincing yourself you have them.

I sympathze with you, as I am currently dealing with another infected tooth and playing the waiting game with the oral surgeon, since they are booked. It messes with your head big time. I keep imagining that my other teeth are going to become infected and I will lose them all. I have to consciously give my fears over to God and not think about it.

Are you open to seeing a therapist or counselor? They can do wonders for anxiety and irrational fears.
