Root canal

I've a root canal stage 1 tomorrow on front tooth.. I'm so so nervous it's my first ever root canal. What can I expect? Is it similar to a root canal? I had an awful extraction experience before where the root was curved at the tip and the dentist basically had to dig as the tooth was broken down to the gum line it surely couldn't be as bad as that experience. I've also asked for numbing gel to be used. I'm lucky I've a good understanding dentist I'm just so scared and nervous ahead of tomorrow

Bit late now I fear but yeah, from the patient's POV it's a sort of cross between a filling and getting your fingernails filed
I hope it went well for you and was much easier than the last visit.
