So three days ago I had all of my bottom teeth removed. I found myself as a diabetic in a position where I needed all my teeth removed. There are several stitches as well. I am worried about dry socket. I am still in pain and the stiches of course make it worse. Has anyone here had all of their teeth removed. I assume the healing process is longer but not sure. I am just feeling raw and in pain. Any idea how longer till the pain really stops?

Hi I have just come to say hello and welcome to the forum, I haven't had all my teeth out so I cannot help you. The pain is normal, you should be fine from dry socket now as it happens within the first 72 hours after extraction. Having the stitches also helps this.

Follow the aftercare instructions and as each day goes on now you should start to feel a little bit better each day.

Kim is the lady you want, she has had this, I know others have too but her name comes to mind. She will be along soon I am sure, so be patient and I hope you get some relief soon.

Hi Starr,

I wish you a quick and good recovery and in the end of this treatment also a healthy mouth with which you can eat, smile and enjoy from.

I am just feeling raw and in pain. Any idea how longer till the pain really stops?

It sounds as a very massive treatment. The most important thing is that the dentist who treated you stays in touch, check up on you and see you though this healing period. This period might take a couple of weeks. How many weeks is difficult to say. It depends on your diabetics, how many teeth were extracted and how the extractions went (I guess that it was combined with sedation and that does not help with your healing either). Sometimes it is better to give the patient antibiotical treatment but again, it depends on the case.

All the best

Hi Starr and welcome from me too. I am sorry that you have had to go through all of this, and it is still very early days into your healing. Each day will get better, and I agree, the stitches are a pain. I am presuming that they are disolvable, and I thought they would just disappear, but they don't. They will break up and just come out, and sometimes you can simply slide them out - it doesn't hurt.

I rinsed heaps with warm salt water which will also help with the healing process. If it doesn't interfere with your diabetes, then take painkillers if it will help. The pain will subside and your mouth will get better each day. We are all different in our healing times, but I really hope that you begin to feel pain free sooner rather than later.

Let us know how you are feeling today, and hopefully it will be better xx
