I’ve been dealing with periodontal issues for a few years. One of my molars on the tongue side has been chronically sensitive to brushing for quite awhile, but has recently worsened and I’m worried it’s a cavity or other problem. I do cleanings every three months and see the dentist every six. If there was a cavity in that spot, wouldn’t the hygienist have seen it at my cleaning three months ago? Or on the x-rays six months ago? I have an appointment this week, but my anxiety decided today that this was something to worry about! I appreciate any reassurance. This forum has been a godsend.

The hygienist should've noticed if there was an issue, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Thank you, Gordon! As always, I so appreciate your reassurances.
