Hi there - thanks in advance for response. Super nervous/anxious patient here.

I went to the dentist last week for a routine cleaning and the dentist said teeth look great, no issues.

Before I left, I asked the dentist how he recommends whitening teeth since I have one upper canine tooth that I noticed is slightly more yellow. He looked at the tooth and said I could cut a whitening strip to just apply to that tooth if it bothered me. He then asked me if I ever bumped the tooth - I said no - and said whitening strips should work well. He seemed unconcerned.

Here’s where my spiraling comes in…when I got home, I read online about the ice cube test and noticed when I hold an ice cube up to this canine tooth, I don’t have any sensitivity to the cold like I do when I hold the ice cube to other teeth.

Is there any reason for me to be concerned about that canine tooth given that it doesn’t have sensitivity to ice held to it? I’ve never had any dental work done - never a cavity - and no known trauma to any tooth. Is it possible that tooth just doesn’t have the same sensitivity? Google results have me worried about the vitality of the tooth. Would you recommend that I try to get another appointment for a vitality test? Or is this likely fine since I was just seen and have no previous dental work or trauma?
