Hi, I’m only around 30-60 minutes out from a lower second molar extraction. I know it’s still too early to judge these things but I guess I’m looking for some advice or reassurance.

My extraction was a breeze with no pain at all (only had local, no sedation like previous times) except I’m starting to notice some minor twinges of sensitivity, aching and soreness in the upper area. It’s directly above the extraction site so it makes me think it’s likely referred pain.

Is this normal? I still feel numb since I have no pain in the extraction site but my upper teeth are giving me problems.

Thank you

Might be your jaw muscles complaining a bit after being stretched open and having to resist the force of the extraction. Try using some frozen peas or corn (still in the packet!!!!) wrapped in a tea towel applied to the area for 5-10 minutes at a time.
