I am having my upper wisdom teeth removed Friday morning with just local after being reassured by my dentist that because my wisdom teeth erupted fully and came in straight that they would be easy routine extractions. My dental office has a "wisdom tooth specialist" who I'm assuming is just an oral surgeon come in on Friday mornings every week to remove wisdom teeth that don't require the person to be put under and while I'm comfortable with my dentist and hygienist, I've never met her which makes me nervous. My dental phobia has gotten better after having 10 fillings filled and two cleanings in the last year however the anxiety is still there and will make it's grand entrance on Friday morning when I go.
Is it true that upper teeth are easier to pull than lower? How long should I expect to be sitting in the chair and how long will it take to actually pull the two teeth? My dentist said two minutes but I'm sure that was an exaggeration of how quick it will be. I'm nervous about hearing the teeth however I'm going to bring headphones to listen to music during it.
