Another Countdown has Begun

Hi all...Well a countdown of a better sort has begun...I will be at my vacation destination in 72 hours That's the good news. The bad news is my tooth started hurting alot last night, and today is really sore. Everything looks ok...maybe the gum area is a little swollen...maybe

I think I have been worrying so much about the partial that maybe I have been clenching, at least I hope that's the problem. Can't really see the dentist before I leave, as my boss is out of the office, so I have to be here open to close. Saturday is not an option as I have a graduation to go to. I am really hoping it settles down and soon

Hi all...I'm back I had a good vacation. I was able to keep the tooth somewhat calm, by eating soft seafood and indulging in some refreshments The flight home, the tooth flared up a bit, and now that I am eating chewier foods it is sore again. I have to fly again on Sunday and not looking forward to that, but I will survive.

I still haven't decided which way I will go with the partial, (I really didn't give it much thought when I was away), but I think that this tooth must be addressed before anything else is done. I have noticed movement with the tooth. I know some movement is normal, but I think this is why it is sore.

I thought of trying to see the dentist before my trip on sunday, as it will be my last chance until the 21st, but I don't think it will be possible I guess I will just hope for the best and continue to baby it.

Thanks Brit...Actually I have an appointment scheduled on the 21st to tell him what I have decided and start the treatment...so I guess it is a countdown. LOL But I posted here also, so that others would remember what I was deciding RE: partial/implants

Hope you have a good holiday. When I return from my trip, my dentist will be away. I guess I can look at it this way...he will be well rested when we start the next treatment

It's good that you were able to get an appointment before you go away, at least he can have a look and sort the tooth out - that way you don't need to worry while you're away .

Thanks Vicki, but actually my appointment is after the my trip and after his trip, so I have a while to worry, but I should be pretty busy. Just glad he goes away after I return, that way if I have a problem, I can still reach him

Oops.... Sorry, I think I got a bit confused there . My memory is rubbish sometimes! Maybe being busy might help to keep your mind off the tooth a bit? Fingers crossed that it settles down for you .

Thanks Lets & Nat....I did have a good vacation and got alot of rest. I planned mulling over my dental options, however I decided it was best to put it out of my mind. I probably wouldn't have done some of the things I did, and instead worried about my money. I did a dolphin excurtion, glassbottom boat trip and a sunset cruise. I also enjoy a multitude of seafood dishes. Probably spent more than I should have, but I needed to indulge a bit for piece of mind.

They only thing that disrupted my trip was a call to home. I found out my brother had a mild heart attack He is doing better now though. Actually made me realize just how important it was to relax on my vacation (Stress was the cause for the attack)

My tooth was/is acting up last night and today. If my tongue touches the back of the tooth is really hurts, also if I bite down the wrong way it hurts. I just don't see anyway to get into see the dentist before I leave town on Sunday. When I return, he is leaving town I guess I will just stick to ibuprophen or acetamenophen and baby it, try not to let my tongue touch the tooth.

Thanks again for all of the well wishes. I am sure when I return from my business trip, I will be pestering everyone with my concerns on trying to make a decision regarding my partial. LOL
