Leaving broken teeth

I have a crown that broke and a snapped tooth they both broke about 2 years ago. I had a check up recently and asked should i be having them removed and my dentist said she will not extract unless they become a issue ie infected or I am in pain. Is this normal?

I'd probably leave it up to the patient if they wanted them removed or not. So yes.
