I had my wisdom teeth taken out a little over two weeks ago. I had a few questions regarding some of my post-op symptoms.

Whenever I eat, I begin to get pains in my teeth like I have a few cavities. Is this just my gums and teeth recovering from the extractions? If so, how long will this last? It can be quite painful.

Also, the other day I was feelin one of the extraction sites with my tongue when I felt "something." This morning I looked in the mirror and it looked like there was still bone or something in the extraction site. What's the deal with that? Did the OS forget to remove everything, or is that just exposed bone from the removal?

Thanks in advance for any help! :D

Yes, it's just healing process. Normally takes 3-4 weeks but can take a bit longer, it depends hugely on a lot of other factors.

The something is likely to be a bone spicule, a little shard of bone that's working its way out of your jaw. Nothing to be concerned about, but it might be causing some of your discomfort. They're quite common, if you read some of the threads on here, you'll see it mentioned quite a lot.
