I am having 12 top teeth pulled and immediate dentures put in on April 29. It was such a job scheduling the appointment around my families schedule and to when I could have help. It is 2 hours away. So that is a factor too as far as go back visits. But I do like them. They are always available by text and phone to discuss my concerns. The problem is I am so scared. It is all consuming me. I am having no sedation or any laughing gas. Just a heavy duty valium. They said trust them that is all I will need. And they have stressed to me to take my meds that day like they tell me. I am the last appointment of the day at 3. and they said I will out by 5. I can't believe that. I am scared of the actual extractions, afraid of the challenges of the new denture. Afraid of the fit. Afraid of the look. Afraid of the first time I see myself with no top teeth. I do not want to look like Mr. Ed. By the time , it gets here, I will be crazy. I so want to smile again. Pictures with me smiling, I can't believe that I will be able to that without being so embarrassed. Please someone tell me it will be ok.
