Steve Creanor is an Emeritus Clinical Professor at the University of Plymouth. He was appointed Director of Undergraduate Dental Studies and Professor of Oral Sciences at Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry in 2006. Before that, he was a Unilver Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow (1983-1987) and Clinical Lecturer and Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow Dental School (1987-2006).
Steve’s main research and teaching interests were in clinical oral biology, especially dental erosion and dental caries. He has over 150 publications – ranging from refereed scientific papers, books, book chapters, reviews and refereed published abstracts of national and international research meetings. He is the editor of Essential Clinical Oral Biology, a textbook for undergraduate and postgraduate students in dentistry, published by Wiley-Blackwell in 2016.
He still referees for a number of high profile dental journals, as well as for the Medical Research Council, the Wellcome Trust and the National Institute for Health Services Research.
