Yes ive called them I have an appointment for 9am tomorrow morning. The tooth feels a little sore again and aggravated but no where near what it was like, i think him filing it down has helped slightly. I have been clenching though as well - which i know isn't helping. I'm looking for reasons i think that mean it won't need an extraction or RCT.
I haven't really had the sharp shooting pain through the tooth again but I am avoiding eating on that side, hot or cold doesn't seem to set it off so much either.

It needs treatment though doesn't it or extracting? I'm just kidding myself that it is the bite or needing longer to settle down.

It's still possible that it could settle. try not to get too upset about it before you see the dentist. if filing it down helped some maybe your bite was just off. I know when I had to go for mine they kept filing it down and I felt worse and worse instead of better, so it's good that yours isn't getting worse.

It's definitely better than it was on Monday when I went back, i'm 99% sure filing down has helped. It's now this sharp shooting sensation i get when i suck, also my teeth that side have a coating to them and I can taste the horrid taste i got when he opened the tooth up to fill it.

I think if he filed it down a little more it may well be ok. It feels aggravated again but like i say i am clenching because i'm getting stressed about it again. Tuesday and Wednesday it felt totally fine.

Everything is still pretty much the same. He sprayed cold air on it and only one spot was sensitive to it. He tapped it and that hurt and carried on hurting for about 30 mins after. Then he coated it with flouride which seems ok.

The result is pretty much the same, if it carries on playing me up then i'm to return and he'll remove it or RCT it. He did say because it is so deep it may just be taking time to settle down as the tooth and nerve try to heal itself. The pain has definitely lessened but it's not gone either.

Again i'm back to a waiting game

Well the tooth appeared to settle down! However i am going through a very stressful time in my life and its back with a vengeance.

I *think* it is caused by me clenching my teeth on the side where i have had the filling done.

This morning and yesterday morning i didn't wake up with pain but by the time i went to bed my teeth were hurting and had been as the day went on. I know i am clenching my teeth, my gums feel sore, my ear aches and my jaw is sore.

Is it likely to be from clenching that has caused all this pain?

Although this afternoon it was throbbing terribly and drinking a hot drink set it off more! Like i say it seemed to have settled down and I had forgotten about it bothering me. I am going through a really stressful, emotional time right now.

Also, my dentist is off next week and i am not scheduled to see him again until the 5th March so i'm really hoping it is clenching related. My previous dentist from way back did diagnose me with TMJ and made me a splint unfortunately though i have mislaid it!!!

The Tooth did settle down for a week or so I'm having to go back today though as hot sets it off again. I'm having to take my little boy with me though so there is no way I will be able to let them extract it today I'll have to book for another day.

Oh Dear. when I didn't see you for a while I had hoped that things had improved. I do hope you don't need another extraction. what happened at your last appointment?

I'm having an extraction on Thursday. He said it has been a month so should have settled down by now but as it hasn't it's extraction or rct. The one bonus is it is being done free of charge so that's £100+ saved.

Im gutted for it seemed to settle but the pain is back.

I'm so sorry you have to lose another tooth. It is so depressing isn't it? But in the end I guess it's better than the pain, and it is easier to eat with a missing tooth than it is with a toothache. Good luck with your appointment I hope it goes as easily and quickly for you as the previous one.
Are you going to do anything about replacing the missing teeth? I am still trying to get used to the big gap my missing molar left, but I don't want to get an implant.

I don't believe it. I think I have an abscess on the tooth that is due to be extracted on Thursday. I have to call the dentist for an emergency appointment tomorrow. The gum above the toothy hurts to press on and has been annoying me all day.

I've been fitted in this afternoon but I'm not sure if I'm going to make a prat of myself. Yesterday when I had toothache as well it felt like the start of abscess. But I'm not sure if it is just an ulcer on my gum above that tooth. Today I don't have toothache which I know if it was an abscess I would have toothache. It hurts to touch though and hurts when I talk or smile. I feel like calling and cancelling now tho and just waiting to go tomorrow. I'm going to look so silly.

Betty you still need to keep your appointment. if you tooth has abscessed the reason the toothache would stop is because if the abscess was able to drain it would relieve the pressure under your tooth. you may need to get put on antibiotics before they can extract your tooth. good luck

Yes you're right scaredy. It just seems strange that the toothache I've had for ages has gone, even a hot drink today hasn't aggravated it. I can feel above the tooth, right below my cheekbone a sore spot. Talking hurts, so does smiling. I also feel a little poorly today nothing specific but I feel under the weather. I'm not sure though if that is because I'm having an extraction tomorrow and the nerves are kicking in.

Better safe than sorry, it could be nervousness making you feel sick but it could be infection too.

I can't see any visible signs of an ulcer. I am going to feel so stupid if it's nothing. I certainly aren't in pain that's making me need painkillers but I'm aware of it. If that makes sense?

I've got an abscess. I'm still having the extraction tomorrow, he gave me metronidazole 200mg and got me to take two while I was there, I'm to have another before bed and one in the morning before my appointment.

No wonder I feel poorly today. I am totally petrified about tomorrow ?

well see! good thing you went and kept your appointment instead of worrying you would look foolish if nothing was wrong. you will be ok now that you started antibiotics. I'm still sorry you have to lose your tooth but it's better than being sick with infection

So sorry that you've got another abscess. The good news is that metronizadole is a strong antibiotic, and so will work quickly on the infection. Good luck for tomorrow. I'm sure it will be over quickly and painlessly. Let us know how you get on.
